For the second edition of its Human Capital Report, a robust expansion of values and initiatives once summarized in sections of its Integrated Report and Sustainability Report and now presented in this stand-alone publication, Dai-ichi Life Holdings, Inc. (now Daiichi Life Group, Inc.) partnered with Edge International, leveraging our industry-leading expertise in corporate communications to ensure that its ambitious goals, people-driven philosophy, and value creation story align across all three reports.
Company Overview
Daiichi Life Group, Inc. is an insurance group with more than 120 years of history, founded in 1902 as Japan’s first mutual life insurance company. Today, in addition to conducting multiple operations in Japan, the Company is significantly expanding its overseas business, particularly in North America and the Asia-Pacific region.
Main Features of the Report
In Human Capital Report 2025, Daiichi Life presents initiatives based on the six pillars* of its Group Human Resources Strategy, unified under the key theme of “transformation” as it advances toward becoming a global top-tier insurance group.

The Company has long fostered a culture of transformation in which its diverse workforce, comprising some 61,000 employees across nine countries, are motivated and empowered to proactively respond to the myriad changes and challenges that have marked Daiichi Life’s remarkable growth over the last two decades, which include such milestones as its successful entry into the international life insurance business in 2007; becoming a listed stock company in 2010; and transitioning to a holding company structure in 2016, all the while enhancing capital and exceeding sales growth targets while continuously increasing corporate value.

Daiichi Life’s people-driven philosophy is showcased in a streamlined narrative spanning two main sections of the report. The first, “Our Story,” presents the Company’s Vision for FY2030 in terms of employees’ aspirations and the path to their achievement, with a key message of empowering diverse talent to drive transformational innovation. The second section, “Strategy,” explains the details of that path and expounds on Daiichi Life’s investment in its people and their career growth, including initiatives to advance diversity, equity, and inclusion, and its efforts toward gender equality, global talent and leadership development, and compensation and upskilling programs, which have led to consecutive record sales, despite recent years of industry contraction.

Human Capital Report 2025 also features a roundtable discussion of mid-career hires, who convey a vivid sense of the workplace against a backdrop of talent portfolio diversification through skilled recruitment. Here, employees with various backgrounds and perspectives give voice to Daiichi Life’s support, culture, and environment for career-building, further showcasing a shared mindset permeating from management to the front lines that embraces challenges and transformation—the mindset of a group moving forward together toward its desired future.
Edge International developed the report with a unified message centered on the themes of transformation, innovation, growth, global reach, and expectations for the future, while emphasizing simplicity and readability, with coordinated messaging across media, including the companion volumes of Daiichi Life’s Integrated Report 2025 and Sustainability Report 2025 as well as key investor relations materials on the Daiichi Life corporate website.
